We’re sharing a wonderful creative exercise from Jenny Doh’s Craft-A-Doodle (Lark Books) by Corinne Dean called “A Monster a Day.”
Ms Dean suggests, “Doodling a monster a day is a great way to get into the habit of doodling, and to challenge yourself to come up with lots of variations on a simple idea. Start with a basic shape and then add moods, limbs, and details.”
We think this is fantastic for artists who tend to be perfectionists (like me), freeing us from trying to craft the “masterpiece.” Plus, you’ll end up with a whole page of great doodles to enter “To Boo, or Not to Boo!”
